The Art department was delighted with the latest round of entries for the Artist of the Month competition, with first place awarded to Lower Sixth student, Gracie Whitter, in March.

Big congratulations to Gracie for her painting of Brinkley, done on watercolour paper, with gouache for the dog and watercolour for the background.

“It’s a really fun and lovely piece of artwork,” says Ms Snowdon.

“I thought with being back in school and having such a hectic month we’d have fewer submissions but that was not the case and it was great to see so many of you continuing to make Art,” she adds.

“We chose this piece of work as the winner thanks to the way Gracie captured Brinkley’s expression in such a delicate painting and for creating a sense of shine and depth in the dog’s coat.”
