Our art and photography students had an inspiring trip to Venice over half term.

The group enjoyed the Biennale Art Festival, titled May You Live In Interesting Times, which showcased a huge variety of contemporary art at the Arsenale Exhibition Space and the Giardini Della Biennale.

In addition to observing modern art, the students also spent a morning at the Gallerie dell’Accademia and soaked up some of the world’s finest classical paintings. The group also supported fellow Trinity students who were playing in the fabulous surroundings of the Palazzo Cavagnis, sharing dinner together after the concert.

Luke Yeulett said: “The huge variety of art was inspiring; from videos to sculptural installation, it was easy to get lost in the galleries and lose track of time. It was interesting to see how each country interpreted the theme of the Biennale, and the experience helped me formulate ideas for my A Level work. I really enjoyed the trip and the unique layout of Venice made every view picturesque. I am definitely going to visit again!”
