Stars of stage and screen
Congratulations to
Leo Benedict for his part in the new Merchant Ivory film Before the Rains. Leo plays Peter, the son of Linus Roache and Jennifer Ehle in a film which watches the disintegration of their marriage against a back-drop of 1930's India. He spent 3 weeks on location in Kerala, riding elephants and showing the actors how to play cricket!
Well done, too, to GSCE Drama students Alex Plant-Smith and Paul Turner who have been cast as voice artists, to be heard in a forthcoming film from Paramount Pictures and the director of ‘Bend it like Beckham'.
U6 student Will Alder has secured a position in the technical department of the National Youth Theatre. Following a two week training programme with professionals from the industry he will tour the country, plotting and designing lighting for a number of theatres. Will, whose outstanding talent and enthusiasm has contributed hugely to a range of productions over his years at Trinity, is now set to study Drama at university.
